Psalm 34:5 They looked unto him, and were lightened and their faces were not ashamed.

We carry so much baggage, so much worry, fear, and anxiety. The burden of doing so truly shows in our lives. Lack of sleep, lack of love, lack of patience, lack of godliness. However, the moment we look unto Jesus, He takes it all away. Some baggage will take years, but every day that you look unto Jesus there will be less and less burden. More and more love, godliness and patience. You can tell the difference between someone looking to Jesus and someone continuing to carry their own burdens.

That baggage, the burdens we carry have the ability to shame us if we let it. Things such as, ‘You’re not trusting God,’ ‘This sin is worse than anyone else’s,’ ‘No one will understand.’ That shame will follow us until we cast it before God, to be forgiven and to be left at the foot of the cross. This verse makes it very clear, whoever looks unto Jesus is lightened and their faces are not ashamed. Some people believe they have to do it themselves. That it is the only way to show God they are worthy. NO. Give it to God. Now! Let Him take away your burdens. Be lightened and unashamed. It is the way God intends us to be.

So thankful He will take our baggage free of charge and handle it reliably- He is trustworthy. And what do we have that is not first given? Thanks for this call to action today!
